Why You Should Rise Before the Sun - 5 Benefits of Waking Up Early

In my last blog post, I mentioned that one of the most important thing you can do to stay motivated is to wake up early. It naturally gives you more time to do things and there are many advantages associated with mental, spiritual, and physical health.

“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise” - Benjamin Franklin

That said, getting out of bed early isn’t easy and it takes some effort for most. I get up every day between 5-6 am and with the help of an app called Alarmy, waking up is a rather enjoyable experience. Alarmy is a multi-mission alarm app with a variety of fun and easy to use features. You turn off the alarm by completing one of the missions while getting out of bed. I’ve been using the new squat mission to wake up my body. There are other missions to choose from; taking steps, completing a memory game, typing motivational quotes, solving math problems and taking a photo of an object. After completing one of these, it’s not likely that you’ll get back into bed.

Here are some of the benefits of waking up early

1, It gives your body to wake up fully before starting your day.

It takes a few hours for full wakefulness to kick in (takes about 2 hours, according to the studies). Focusing on work and studies is much easier when you are fully awake and there is less tendency to depend on caffeine.

2, It’s good for mental health

Some studies have shown waking up early can prevent depression. You are more productive and it gives you a sense of purpose. Because you are up early, you go to bed early. It promotes deep and restful sleep which is important for mental and emotional well-being.

It’s a known fact almost all the successful people get up before the sun rises. Whether you are getting up for work, school, fitness and for other reasons, It’s simply a good habit for success and achievement.
