How To Stay Fit & Healthy While Traveling

Staying fit can be a challenge while traveling. I know from my own experience that traveling can add stress to the body and mind; disrupting eating and sleeping patterns. Here, I’m sharing with you what I do to stay healthy (most importantly!) and fit when I go on my filming trips and while on vacation. The most important advice I can give you is to drink plenty of water, eat healthy and stretch regularly.

-Keep Your Health in Check
Staying healthy should be the number one priority. Drink plenty of water and eat healthy foods. Get plenty of rest. Catch naps while traveling.
-Pack a Pair of Walking/Running/Hiking Shoes, Yoga Mat…….
A pair of comfortable shoes is a must if you plan to see a lot of places on foot. They’ll keep you active while traveling. I always take my running shoes, yoga mat and a foam roller. And if the hotel I’m staying has a pool or it’s near a beach, I pack my bikinis too.
-Go for a Walk, Hike or Run After Arriving at a Destination
I always go for a walk or a run after getting off a plane, bus, or after a long drive. It’s a good way to explore while stretching out my limbs.
-Stretch
Long flights and car/bus rides can leave you stiff and sore. If your trip includes a lot of physical activities, it’s good to incorporate a short stretching or gentle yoga in your routine. I use Chirp Wheel+ to release tension and stretch my back after a long day of travel and after my workouts.

-Participate in Local Events & Activities
There are always events and activities you can participate regardless of the destination. I love to see new places and taste unique foods after hiking, doing a running race or snorkeling. Local markets are one of my favorite places to explore.
