Best Destinations 2020 Pt. 8 - Singapore
Singapore, the Republic of Singapore to be exact, is located on the southern part of Singapore Island between the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea. In 1965, Singapore separated from Malaysia and became an independent country. A few decades later and today, it’s known as the largest port in Southeast Asia and one of the busiest commercial centers in the world.
It’s a country with a mixture of cultures: predominantly Chinese, Malay and Indian. In the center of Chinatown is the must-see Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Food Street lively with restaurants, food vendors, shops and boutiques offering antiques, crafts, clothing, and accessories. The aroma of Indian spices and colorful buildings welcome visitors along Serangoon Road and Race Course Road in Little India. Shop for quality rugs, exotic fabric and taste the best Halal food in town on Arab Street, at the heart of Singapore’s Islamic community.

What to Eat:
Singapore is truly a food lover’s paradise. These are some of my favorites. Dining at hawker centres (open-aired food courts) is an experience not to be missed. Find out more about what to eat in Singapore HERE.
