The new Rod Fai Tain Night Market is more accessible and conveniently located, just a few minutes walk from MRT Thailand Cultural Center Station.

The new location (it used to be a parking lot of a shopping mall) is on a smaller scale though it still has the same vintage atmosphere of the original market.  The night market is popular with young locals shopping for hip clothing and accessories as well as with tourists looking for cold drinks and street foods.

The market has mainly three sections; the area nearest to Esplanade Mall is catered to food stalls and the middle of section has clothing and accessories. The farthest end has the bars and restaurants.

What makes this night market different?.......the artfully decorated entrance, the retro furniture, the colors of the stalls and neon vintage signs.

There is a wide selection of street foods available.  The locals come with friends and family to hang out and enjoy foods such as large platters of seafood, stewed pork ribs with green chillies and hot pot.

Grilled skewered meats and vegetables, fried chicken, and green papaya salads are must-tries while strolling through the market.

As with most night markets, it's better to get there before 6:00 pm (the market is open from 5:00 pm-1:00 am).  The food stalls are packed with people and there are long waiting lines during the peak hours (7:00pm-9:00pm).
